There’s a lot of pacing issues with the relationships in this book, but all of the problems aside the fundamental problem is the main idea itself. Andrew is scheming and manipulative because the guy next door is soooo handsome, that he’ll do anything to push the envelope to seduce him, hoping to turn him straight. It’s extremely naive and unrealistic. If you’re gay and like a straight guy in your life, do literally the opposite of what Andrew did.
