The narration is great the story flows really well and i often found myself listening longer than usual. the female characters are objectified a little too much so i hope that changes in the later books, but overall the characters are really fleshed out and well characterized,

MILD SPOILER WARNING

while i really enjoyed the story throughout i really hate when authors use characters lying about the main character to make others hate them, i just feel like there’s a better way to make certain events happen, since it happens at the end of the book i feel like it could get better or worse as the story goes on though. that being said i feel like James Osiris Baldwin did it better than most at least in this first one, and i can understand that he might be drawing from his own experiences as a trans man to a certain extent, but it’s just a trope that kinda makes my blood boil
