I don’t remember how I found this book. The “Zombie” genre isn’t really a favorite though I’ve listened to a few. I remember seeing this one, (maybe on Facebook?) and thinking to myself, “55 hours, nine books for one credit? This can’t be good.” But I decided to give it a try anyway.

I’m so glad I did. This seemed different to me than most books in this genre, though I can’t really say why. Phil Torn did an excellent job keeping my interest and bringing the individual characters to life. Add in a protagonist that I wanted to like but just couldn’t quite get there, a supporting character that makes up for his shortcomings, and the real human struggles that would come with a scenario like this, and I really enjoyed this book.

Often when I read (listen) to a book that is multiple books long and covers 30+ hours, I will take a break somewhere in the middle and come back to it. I stayed with this book for all 55 hours and never felt like I needed a break from it.

Great story, better value, fantastic listen. Buy this book.
