I love this series. I found this book early in my LitRPG genre exploration and part of me is upset I did because I now this is my baseline of comparison. I have been so engrossed in this series I joined Matt’s Patreon.
This book, and overall series, melds humor and adventure all set in an environment where the characters are under constant threat of mass extinction of their entire world.
The narration is again, my baseline for comparison. The variety of voices and emotion leaves nothing to be desired.
This book doesn’t take itself too seriously, sometimes it’s silly and borderline ridiculous but honestly if you just go with it the payoff is amazing. You’ll so attached to Carl and Donut that you can’t wait to see what shenanigans they get up to next.
I’m currently on my fourth listen through the entire series and I’m always picking up new foreshadowing events and previously missed details. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
