Christian Writer?

At times the book(s) are well written. Other times it is a slog to get through redundant and unnecessary information. The series is really 2-3 books stretched out as long as possible.
Great narration. I don’t know if the writer is very old or uber Christian. How many times did I hear things like “saved our bacon”? What soldier or normal person talks like that saying it repeatedly, especially in a stressful situation?

The book(s) are okay. I wouldn’t want to waste the hours needed to hear the whole series. it should be heavily edited and reduced to one novel or a few short novels.
