That might sound simple, but I believe that as a story goes, that’s the greatest compliment you can give someone who has begun a series. The Magic system is easy to follow while only teasing it’s depths by the end of the book. I only wish to produce such a feeling as a writer to those who read my own series.

To talk about the writing itself, I was entertained, engaged, and never felt the need to put the book down/ pause the narration. I thoroughly enjoyed the story and the writing.

As for the performance, Mr. Baldree did a bang up job.

The Magic System was well realized and follows what I know of the xian xia sub genre, though admittedly I’m only just digging into it myself. The more interesting aspect of the story is how the MC, Lindon, sees and is taught the basics compared to what he is exposed to over the coarse of the story. It’s quite a journey overall.

Less unreliable and more ignorance, but satisfying nonetheless.

I’m in. Mr. Wight has got me for this one. Will he keep me is the true test.
