I loved this story, though I must admit, not quite as much as it’s predecessor, “Eversea.” Kari Ann’s fierce independence & stubbornness is understandable in the first book; however, I did tire of it in the second book. Along with her constant indecision about Jack & the future of their relationship, it felt that she was acting very immature & often times ungrateful for Jack’s unfailing love & his desire to do whatever he can to help her in her life. There’s a part in the book where Jack tells Kari Ann that she’s giving him whiplash, which is exactly how I felt! Although her desire to find herself & to always be completely independent is understandable, but to me her behavior became very frustrating.
I enjoy Natasha’s writing & the people & images of the south she so vividly creates in this series.
Jorjeana Marie’s narration was beautifully performed. Her soft southern accent was a delight to listen to!
Johnathan McClain’s narration was ok, but it seemed quite flat to me. Sadly, I didn’t feel that he gave the best interpretation of Jack.
