How does it possibly make any sort of sense that humans have the ability to do magic that let’s them live thousands upon thousands of years?!?!
It’s mentioned time and time again in both series that members of The Community have low birth rates compared to humans because they live so much longer. But now all of a sudden humans have the ability to live as long as elves and dragons, which both live significantly longer lives than any Community member. It annoyed me when it was brought up with Noah, and then again in Dustin’s book, but that this was a major plot point in this one took it over the edge. Seriously, who let this crap get through? It should’ve been something along the lines of the elves and dragons brought back some forgotten magic that let’s humans link their lifespan to their Community partner … that at least wouldn’t have been infinite and still have extended their life through the relationship.
