Book 2 really started loosing me. I tried to get into this one. But with just over 7 hours left in the story… I’m just done. I listen to audiobooks on a daily basis. When I’m driving, working, etc. But I’ve went for about a week without doing so. Because I don’t start a new book until I’m finished with the last one. Every time it was time to turn this book back on… I just couldn’t do it. I didn’t want to keep listening hoping it would get better (because it just wasn’t). In book 1: I liked the premise. The characters were growing at a decent rate. But it just started to really lose my attention somewhere in book 2. It has failed to regain it within the 1st 4.5 hours of this one.

I’m done with this series. I thought maybe giving it a day off would give time for me to think about aspects of the story that would stimulate the desire to pick it back up. Surely I would miss it, and return with appreciation and more zeal. Yeah… didn’t work. But this is on me for wasting so many days before moving on to something better. I’m not going to give spoilers to ruin it for those who are into the series. So trying to be more detailed in what’s wrong would be hard to do without doing that. So let’s just leave it spoiler free with: It bored me to no end. I was struggling to keep listening… until I finally just stopped listening. I’m just ready to get back into a good story again.
