Highly underrated slice of life. Travis Baldree does an amazing job narrating this work. The book has themes that are relevant to those of all ages. Story is complex enough to keep adults entertained, but remains approachable for younger listeners too.
Story follows the adventures of two kids as they adapt to a new life living on Sacred Cat Island in the wake of their father suddenly losing his job and mother no longer being in the picture. The book contains a cast of varied and memorable characters, all voiced expertly.
Don’t be scared off by the “LitRPG” subtext. This book transcends the genre and is entirely approachable even for those who don’t want to gamify their reading. I’d recommend this book to anyone looking for a fun romp in a magical world
