This was my first time listening to either narrator and I think they both did a really good job. Zara Eden is now one of my new favourite female narrators, I loved her voice and she was perfect for Aspen. I’m seeing all the reviews saying her voice was too ‘breathy’ but I don’t think so at all!

I’ve seen this book rec’d for a while and am glad I finally read (listened to it). I really enjoyed both of the writers writing style and loved the detail and visual aspect of it. Especially the way the university was described, very easy to visualize. I also really liked the unique concept – a university of children from high profile criminals and the main characters being rivals.

This is definitely a dark romance bully read and has some triggering content including dub-con & non-con scenes. So, if you like your books darker and don’t have many triggers, I highly recommend it.

I had mixed feelings about Q – I always love a morally dark grey villain and the first half of the book I could handle what he did to Aspen and I still liked him. But certain parts I do think he took things too far and just hope he really grovels and makes it up to her. I loved Aspen and my heart really broke for her and I wanted to protect her. What the school faculty & students did to her was very extreme, which I think is what made this book feel darker, because she has so many enemies against her
tormenting her.

Above all else, I did enjoy this book, recommend it for ones who enjoy dark books and will read the second.
