While I’m a fan of apocalypse novels generally, those that are as realistic as this scratch my particular itch. The Disruption Trilogy takes place around two regions with which I’m intimately familiar, and and the stories are true to those areas. And as an electrical engineer, I can vouch for the realism of the root causes of the blackout.
The reading is exemplary. I will be looking for books read Kevin Pierce as well as other books by McDermott.
