Pepper Winters is my go to for dark romance, and this is definitely dark. Pay attention to trigger warnings before you dive into this series!! All of that aside, once again Pepper has pulled me into a dark romance with characters who are confusing and there are some significant moral quandaries and beyond-complicated characters. This is book 4 in a series of 7 books and the are cliffies, so only start this book if you are prepared to be all in and read the entire series to get the full story. This is super dark, super trigger-heavy romance with definite consent triggers. Characters leave you questioning everything we are as flawed beings and the complexity of our psyche and the power of choices. I was completely hooked because this Author brilliantly leaves clues to more and more secrets that I NEED to know. I’m writing this as I’m listening to book 5 now. Excellent mystery, thriller, dark romance. I am burning through this series and played 1-more chapter until 4am!
Sarah Puckett & Scott Rider are both excellent narrators and this book done in DUET is very well produced with powerful performances! I love DUET when it’s done right, and I love getting lost in the story with truly talented narrators
