There is something tremendously engaging about this series of stories which revolve around this motorcycle club. I’ve become inextricably absorbed and invested in what happens to these people, basically all of whom I care about. The extraordinary narration in both Tex and now Dante make the stories jump right off the page. I feel like I know these people and want to become part of their world. A world which bears very little, if any, resemblance to reality, but it is a tremendous joy to spend time in nonetheless. These books have become my guilty pleasure. So what if people aren’t really this nice, or this wise, or this empathetic, or this genuine. It’s a wonderful escape from reality and a dimension I would gladly live in given the opportunity.
