This is a good addition to a fantastic series, but I have to admit that I struggled to get into the main characters in this book. Part of that might have been the narration, but overall I think it’s because I never felt the emotional connection between Nix and Dawson. This book deals with alcohol addiction – both during addiction and post rehab. It dealt with the topic with compassion, hope, but also covered the challenges of being an addict. I struggled with the narration of this book as I wasn’t keen on the voices the narrator gave some of the characters. Having said that, there are a lot of characters in this series and it must be tough trying to give them all a recognisable voice across the series. I’m really looking forward to hearing Priest’s story in the next book in the series.
