The overall story is pretty good. However Maddie should calm down and get over herself. She is NOT the leader of the group and is NOT her father. She constantly places herself in the middle of things she can’t possibly understand. If she doesn’t get her way sbe pouts and complains. She should leave the planning to the ex-soldiers in her group , follow their lead, and shut up.
