it’s a vrmmo so it’s dumb and I expected that, but it’s way too dumb and it’s not even fun. the “trial” storyline makes zero sense, also the “keeping Alfred a secret from riley” storyline.
the trial is AGGRESSIVELY dumb. the author decided to make their opponents’ plan to claim the game “corrupted” the mc. the facts don’t really match that so the author just says ” oh nobody cares about facts” and then just never brings it up again. the mc has the worst lawyer on the planet I guess. he doesn’t seem to cross examine anyone or call his own witnesses. it makes the entire storyline pointless- the mc could trivially succeed in any of these scenes but we get scene after scene of the mc seeing terrible stuff happen in the trial and being sad with no recourse. just incredibly contrived
