This book is a brilliant look at the hidden motives behind human actions and decisions. It is presented well, with numerous examples to illustrate how and why these hidden motives manifest in our thoughts and actions. The authors also have the humility to admit that some of their theories or beliefs could be wrong, which I found refreshing when compared with the pedantry that is so prevalent among other books dealing with social psychology. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in the brain, psychology, sociology, and humanity’s internal strengths and weaknesses.
