I loved Cole and Holly’s second chance, enemies to lovers, single dad romance. This was a steamy sweet swoony funny heart warming tale about letting go of the past in order to live your best life. Holly is a programmer who is beta testing a dating app in small town Highland Hills. Cole is a single father who owns a brewery. Holly and Cole grew up in Highland Hills but incidents in their past made them enemies despite their intense attraction. They are unaware that they are interacting as beta testers for the app when they start interacting IRL. There are trunks full of baggage to unpack for both Cole and Holly to get to their HEA and it’s a fun and emotional journey for all of us. The book has a little bit of everything – sweet moments, sexy scenes, hilarity, painful pasts, messy families, and all the love. Cole and Holly’s love story has all the feels – expect to laugh, grit your teeth, cringe, groan, and of course swoon. The book is well written, with characters with depth who grow and an engaging storyline. I am loving this series and the Mayberry siblings.
Heather Firth and Alexander Neal did a phenomenal job narrating the story and breathing life into the characters and the story with enough change of inflection, tone and cadence to voice multiple characters quite convincingly.
