I was super excited to get this since one of the authors was part of another series I liked but, for a premise that had so much potential, it was mind bogglingly boring.
The first third is just prattling on about how the gods work, remaining 2/3 is two characters going through a very boring dungeon.
It sorely needs character development, and maybe even more characters, or at least the ones they have interacting in more of a meaningful way.
I got through the whole thing thinking, “surely this has to pick up, just once the books is other that next dune, right?”. But no, it’s about as exciting and interesting as a grocery store “haul/unboxing” video.
