While the MC can be blunt at times and obvious asking questions of everyone expecting them to share secrets all while refusing to tell his own, he does have a certain fun charm.

Most of all you cant really tell what’s going to happen. In other books of you get a quest you finish it, in this one you might fail or abandon it. Red herrings and loose threads abound but in a way that shows the MC had better things to do or no option.

As for the ending it’s so abrupt you’ll get whiplash. Not cool, not cool at all. I’d rather it ended one chapter earlier than when it did. Now I’ll be aching for the next book.
