I have to start by saying I have not listened to or read the the other series. If fact, did not know that this was a spin off series until I read some of the reviews.
At no time did I find myself lost or confused.
I also do not understand all the reviews that say how much they do not like the new narrator? First, Joel Leslie is one of my favorite narrator and is almost an automatic buy just seeing his name as the narration. And more importantly, if this is a new series, then it makes sense that it would have been a new narration.
The story itself is complex, you have a brother trying to find why his younger brother, who had just died, left these critiques clues in a childhood hiding spot. As the story unfolds the two MC stumble upon a plot that so many layers it keeps you guessing throughout the whole story.
Joel Leslie did an amazing job keeping the whole tale entertaining from start to finish.
