As the title says – slow start, great finish. You truly build a bond with each added person in the story.
Took me a while to like the MC ( personal preference I hate this style of writing, I want the mc to be someone I’d enjoy being around ), I really wasn’t sure about the axe, and at times it’s a little too doom and gloom when we know there’s more coming.
Imo best part of this book is how the relationships grow – from his personal assistant to the first NPC and his mother. Fantastic growth, literally watched the reason for each of these characters story unfold.
Buying the 2nd one now.
