Vi spends her days rock climbing at Rock On and has progressed in her skills to the point where she teaches classes. Corbin and Brian are military snipers and have come in for their first lessons. As Vi and Corbin’s eyes meet, they each recognize the other half of their soul…the pull between them is so strong that neither can ignore it. Once Corbin hears she’s 18, his 20-year-old self doesn’t hesitate to get to know her better. Their texts are delightful, often hilarious, and it’s the perfect beginning to their relationship. The years go by, and their love stays strong, ready to take the next step to marriage. Because of heartache in his past, he only asks one thing of Vi; to remain loyal. It’s been 3 years of happiness and he’s soon to be deployed, so this will be the first time they’ve been separated for a long stretch of time. As we’re told in the prologue, Vi is viciously raped and she chooses to lie to Corbin to keep him from retaliating as she knows he would. Corbin’s reaction is just what she suspected, and she has no one to blame but herself for lying to him…or so she thinks. Corbin has kept his eye on her because, even though they’re divorced, he still feels protective over her. The lengths he goes to in order to keep her safe are truly amazing. What happens next is Vi’s often painful yet satisfying journey to self-realization and rediscovery of the love of her life. This is a wonderful story of love, redemption and karma, pieced together with a character-driven plot that moves at a perfect pace.

Ada Sinclair and Logan McAllister beautifully narrate the story. Their clear, evocative voices lend personality and attitude to each of the characters as they bring them to life.
