The Danger You Know is a refreshingly different plot and story line, and very unique to most books in the Erotica/Romance genre and even in the Crime genre.
Adelaide is a young girl when her maybe-mobster father is shot in the head in his home office. The killer is unaware that anyone is home, but the dead man’s teenage daughter walks into his office just after hearing a gunshot. Adelaide is crushed by the loss.
Ari, the seasoned hired killer, has an unexpected reaction to Adelaide — her raw grief makes such an impact that he actually feels guilty for having killed her father. In order to expunge his shame over this, he vows to watch over and protect her always. He stays hidden from her, but for seven years as she grows to adulthood, he becomes more and more obsessed, essentially turning into a stalker to learn everything he can about her and to protect her.
The bulk of the story is about Ari’s struggle to manage his obsession, Adelaide’s increasingly erratic and dangerous behavior, and the inevitable collision course on which the two of them are headed.
Highly recommended book for the unique plot, suspenseful story line, and super-talented narrators. Don’t miss this one!!
