The math on my ratings doesn’t add up. Story – 3 stars – it’s good, I liked it, but nothing outstanding. I very much enjoy super hero books with funny bits, but this isn’t the best I’ve read in that genre (Alexander C. Kane and Drew Hayes have that distinction). Performance – 5 stars – Phil Thron does a wonderful job, his voices and pacing are top notch. So mathematically that should average to 4 stars for the Overall category, right? And it would have, except then there was Randy. I freaking love the Butterfly King so much, both how his character was written and how it was voiced. I’ve re-listened to this book at least 5 times and it’s all because of Randy. The number of re-listens pushed the overall score to 5 stars, a rating it deserves for fact it keeps pulling me back in. As another reviewer said, All Hail the Butterfly King!
