Characters were believable and doubly so with the magic imbued by Kevin Pierce. I noticeably cared about their fate, to include the dispensation of justice on foes who could be both entertaining and simultaneously loathed. The protagonists and allies were often liked, loved, admired, judged and fretted over.

Though I am new to this genre despite my eclectic middle-aged interests I found myself losing interest in many of the stories I have tried so far in the post apocalyptic genre. Until now.

Though I cried at the end of this not, I repeat not, a 1970s. ending. Sorry for the repeat, but the voices of Honeycutt and Huges are still renting space.

Please good Sir McDermott give us more. Your country needs you. Bravo.
