I could not image how Gunner was going to be redeemed. I think I might have even missed a book. But, this book embodies Gunner’s pain and the idiom, “caught between a rock and a hard place”. It seemed like his life was one impossible situation after another.

Lacy had her own demons to conquer. I liked the way they came together and provided a level of healing for one another. I also appreciated there was not a ton of angst between these two.

I liked the other characters in the book as well. I have to admit that I listened to these books completely out of order, but realized some if the characters were from other series. This just gives me more books to read in order to place catch up.

The narration was good. The narrator did a great job of expressing Gunner’s pain, self loathing, regrets, and ultimately forgiveness of actions outside of his control. I am looking forward to Jack’s book, but I still need to read Reid, Mitch, and Waggs book.
