This was a really beautiful, sweet and sexy slow burn vacation romance.
Wren is on vacation with his “best friend” in Majorca. Unfortunately, he’s not as financially set as the rest of the group, and when they decide to head to another destination, Wren has no choice but to stay in the overpriced hotel for another night until he can get a flight home to London. That night, when he’s treated terribly by the restaurant staff, a handsome, older Spanish man comes to his defense and offers to buy him dinner. That one dinner turns into a week long offer to stay in Majorca.
Both Wren and Mateo are very special characters. While they both have such kind souls, they’ve experienced the world very differently. Wren has never had people stick with him, and longs for someone to want to stay. Mateo’s past has made him completely adverse to commitment, always finding men who he knows he won’t have to keep. Wren has also struggled with money his whole life, while Mateo has never wanted for anything.
I loved how Mateo learned so much just from being around Wren. Their banter is hilarious, and their times alone and sweet and steamy.
I also have to point out how atmospheric of a writer Lily Morton is. You can feel the sun and smell the sea when reading this, and I now want to plan a two week vacation to Majorca 🤣.
This was a really beautiful and funny read, as always from Lily!! Narration from Joel Leslie was perfect as always!
