📖 Story comment: Good pace, likeable characters
It was nice to see a non binary character represented in the series, but I admit at times I found the they/them/their confusing – this is possibly one occasion when reading over narration would have worked better – having said that, I found it was better on a second listen when I had an idea of what was going on.
I enjoyed watching the relationship between Gunter and Nikki develop, they make for an entertaining couple.
As a conclusion to the overarching story, it was OK, but I was a little disappointed – I was expecting a much bigger battle given it’s taken 5 books to get there.
🎧 Narrator comment: Joel Leslie is a master voice actor, His characters are consistent from book to book, he has good cadence, inflections and intonations and it’s easy to distinguish all the characters from each other. Overall an excellent performance and he’s done a delightful job bringing this series to life.
