Tragic. Devastating. Raw. Controversial. Beautiful. I will not get this story or its characters out of my head for a long time. I couldn’t believe the ending that I cried so hard for them- it takes a lot for me to cry from a book.
This book is not about pedophilia. There was nothing in it about weird fantasies, gross fetishes, or sexual abuse. I mean do I think things happened too soon? Of course. Did I cringe at parts? Yeah.
They both came from abusive families and lived in a world that had done nothing for them but tear them down. Two broken humans whose souls were connected, no matter the age. They understood each other. They saved each other. There will be people who disagree and only see black & white. But in between there’s gray. That’s where this book sits.
