I want to address the negative reviews about the narrator first. After listening to this series I’ve decided it is something with the audio that is causing the ‘stuffy’ sound. Even if the narrator did have a cold, we’ve all had to work sick before. The next two in the series do not have this issue at all! I didn’t listen to this book for a long time because of the reviews, and now I’m disappointed in myself for that. They did a great job with all the voices and brought the characters to life. If you just can’t get past that, the next books in the series do not have this sound and you should pick them up.
I read all these books first, so of course I have different versions of the characters in my head. I’ve enjoyed listening to the series quite a bit though. With the new book coming out soon I wanted to catch up and be ready. There are parts of the books that are standing out more than when I read them and now I feel like I’ve got the whole picture and not just what I could recall from listening.
Ash is by far my favorite in all the lands and am looking forward to see where they are at now.
