Gotta say, listening to say, “two tentacles wriggling from their heads, like worms had burrowed into their brains.” was a interesting visual. Not the norm for sci-fi aliens. There are a lot of interesting descriptive words in this tale.
There are a lot of places that will make you giggle, but more that will break your heart.
As a origin story, it’s a great one. Leaves you wondering what’s next for our survivors.
One of my other favorite lines was, “Figure it out,” Nebil said. “I’m supplying accidents. Not a replacement for a small simian brain.”
I really enjoy this authors universe. She didn’t just give me a world, she introduced me to a galaxy and it’s not as I had imagined.
Now I have to find out what’s next….
