I listened to this via audible. I did not read it at all. That may make my experience different from someone reading the book. This was a cute story with a magical twist. There was so much going on and so many false stories I had a hard time following. The false stories told to the MC seemed to have no purpose. I found that confusing and frustrating at times. This is a light Cozy series. Aunt Pearl is the puppeteer pulling everyone’s strings. I had a hard time understanding why she was keeping everyone in the dark. Otherwise, it was a cute, light read. The mystery was Okay once you had all the pieces. I will read the next one to see where the series goes. I thought the narrator did a solid job. Her pacing was good. I felt confused in not being able to understand if any facts presented were the truth. I requested and received a free copy of the audio version in exchange for an honest review.
