First of all, this story was a very fun and entertaining listen. My favorite scene in the book has to do with out MC accidentally getting drunk in front of some very important people, and between Joel Leslie’s superb performance and the authors humor I was laughing so hard that I had to stop what I was doing and wipe away tears. Leslie is a master at his craft, and continues to improve every time I hear a new performance from him. My biggest complaint with this book is that we go 90% of the story with a buildup of a possible relationship between the MC and another character, and then in the end the actual solidification of their romance is paraphrased in a few sentences like an afterthought. It was extremely disappointing and kind of left me feeling let down, truth be told. The pacing for the story was generally on point until the last few chapters when the ending was smooshed together haphazardly. I plan on finishing this series, and hopefully our author brings the next MCs romance to a more satisfying climax.
