A lot of the plot is predictable but it’s not what bothers me, what bothers me is a lot of the plots are just cheesy plots taken from other books or movies. Then the author changes the plots to make them a little better or less predictable.

The ending is ok but I was ready to give up. Also, how many times is Arthur going to “die” and give his family grief?
Of course Travis Baldree elevates an otherwise mediocre story.
