This book begins with one of the least likely events to trigger an apocalypse there is. But hey! This is fiction and a coordinated Syrian immigrant terrorist attack on the United States is about as probable as zombies. From there the writer’s main theme continues to be the unlikely but often talked about scenarios on Fox News or portrayals of people that are just plain untrue stereotypes. It seems to have been written to appeal to his Trump admiring friends and neighbors in rural VA. The pull “yourself up by your boots” trope is pervasive. The only brown people in this book were bad guys. Setting all that aside I really enjoyed the adventures of Grace and the storyline.
