I have never read a more uselessly schizophrenic book. Half tour guide to Zurich, half Greta Thurnberg speech, half Popular Science magazine. Truly a literary manbearpig. Any individual endeavor could have been great, but all three together accomplished none successfully. The plot pacing is backwards. You start with a stirring account of an individual in a global catastrophe, and end with mind-numbingly prosaic apartment hunting. Steady decline in interest and action from the beginning to the end. We care about none of the characters, their interactions are deeply boring and unmoving. Authors may write things like this, but what editor lets it be published?!
