I really really wanted to like this series but they main character is just so shallow and unlikeable. His only motivations are anger, hated and he really has nothing to lose but his pathetic gamer lifestyle. The thing that will keep me from buying anymore of these books is how easily the main character is manipulated. He is supposed to be the best player in the game, yet he falls for every single trick from every single player or NPC, no matter how new or stupid they are. As the reader you can see every ridiculously stupid mistake he is going to make 10 pages before he makes it and every single time you hope the author will have something clever in store… but no, Oren is simply going to fall right into every trap that my 8 year old would be able to avoid.
It feels like the author has a great grasp of WOW, but a terrible grasp on human interaction.
