Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes. Excellent tale of Victorian England, a time when homosexuality could get one jailed for life, or even executed. But two men fall in love and fight to find a way to be together.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Innocent Auction?
The whole section where Tom and Deacon try to rescue Deacon’s gay cousin who was caught in a male whorehouse and sent to an awful prison where he was treated like a pig.
Which scene was your favorite?
The ending
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
There were some laughs here and there, but overall it was just a drama. I didn’t cry, but I kept wondering how they were going to make things work given the era. There was no way two men could live together without being caught at some point.
Any additional comments?
Joel Leslie brought this book to life with voices so good they really seemed like there was a whole cast performing. Excellent accents, too. If I see Joel’s name attached to an audiobook, I have to listen to it!

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
