As you can guess from the other reviews this book does contain slavery as a focal point, practically every other character indroduced is a slave to the MC including a minor.

However they obviously go out of their way to make it seem like a ‘best case scenario’ as quite a few of these slaves are either dead/dying/mortally wounded and wouldnt continue living in any reasonible way without the MC’s direct intervention, so its not quite as hard to stomach as you may be thinking.

Overall the character development is solid they change and grow as the book goes on, but the storyline is sorta…random/unprovoked? Like when a movie clearly wants a sequal but hasnt earned the setup yet.

Give it a shot.
