Kevin Pierce did his regular stellar job reading the 2nd book in this series about Jim Powell and his co-workers Gary and Randi that had chosen to go with him on his walking journey home. Also see more of Rebecca and Alice’s story as the co-workers who opted to go into a FEMA camp hoping to be taken home. People’s unwillingness to accept the new reality that they need to take care of themselves and prisons deciding to let criminals go, abdicating their responsibility are soupy ingredients for trouble. There’s a different feel to this story, mostly because instead of being super corrupt and evil, the government and it’s agencies are completely inept just as happened after Katrina. In fact its a story of what happened after Katrina, expanded across the nation with action and specific characters telling the story of their journey. Great read.
