Beautiful Distraction is the 2nd book in the McCullough Mountain series. Each book can be read as a standalone, this is my second book by Lydia Michaels @lydia_michaels_books but the first in this series! It was so good

Mallory moves to the small town to escape her home life, she has always had weight issues but when the doctor told her she was morbidly obese it sent her running, she needed to change and wouldn’t go home until she lost the weight. This character was so hard to read for me because I struggle a lot in the same ways she did and it just made it uncomfortably relatable- that’s also what I love most about it… so she moved and literally runs into Finn, offering her a ride she accepts, then after a while he eventually introduces Mallory to the town people.

Mallory is insecure about herself. She has a hard time accepting Finn’s friendship and interested in her. She constantly brings herself down and it’s almost like if she belittles herself enough it won’t hurt when other people do it.
Mallory was so real in her feelings of doubt about herself. I really applaud Lydia in her writing this book, I love when authors branch out and show readers things like weight, mental health issues etc!

The book was a 10/10 for me and I plan to read further into this series because I love the McCullough men! The ending was fantastic and I’m already missing Mallory and Finn! I received a audio code for this book on audible from @valentine_pr_
The voice narrator was Lucinda Gainey and it was amazing!
