This book was suggested to me and once I saw that it was on audio, I had to grab it. And I’m so glad that I did. “High Meadow” was a romantic suspense set in a Montana with two people finding each other later in life.

I instantly connected with Alex and her need to be independent and start her own business/rescue in Montana with her best friend. Talk about my dream job. I loved her need to make the world a better place one horse or animal at time. And Jonas? Whew, where can I find myself an older cowboy like that? Not only a ranch owner but also a former skilled Military man who uses all his knowledge for good to help with tracking. One of my favorite things was how this was an older aged book. Late 40s, early 50s for most of the characters. The suspense of finding the bad guy in the story had me listening to this story in one sitting. Freya Barker is a new to me author and I will be reading more from her.

I’m so glad that Connor Crais was casted as Jonas. I loved how his voice transferred in the perfect gruffy cowboy for Jonas. Ada Sinclair is a new to me narrator and I loved her for Alex. I hope her and Connor narrated the rest of the books for this series. I loved listening to them co-narrate this book.
