It’s so easy to miss when you try to create a rogue. The mix has so many elements that need to hit just right in order for the listener to feel just the right feels about the protagonist. Nebula Risen hits on all of those notes. I love the honor, the mercenary, the witty banter, the boyish charm, the willingness to court death, the dark past, the uber high competence level and of course the luck, oh the luck. That combined with a sidekick with just the right amount of sass, competence and awkwardness and Bible has created a winner that has me wanting to come back for more.
