This was horrible, triggering, infuriating.

I tried with this book. I really did. No disrespect to Jack Olsen. As usual his writing is thoughtful and layered. It is well researched and isn’t just a salacious rehashing of a headline. We hear from the victims, towns people, law enforcement, and the lawyers and judge involved in this case. Importantly, Olsen gives us nuanced analysis. So thanks Jack Olsen for telling us what happened to who and how it effected everyone. That said, I could not finish this thing. What this dude did…how these women were raised to be so easily victimized…the gaslighting…the towns people. I could go on, but no. I’m done. I’m giving this back.
