I picked up this book because the synapsis reminded me of the movie The Cell, although that movie didn’t have great reviews, I really liked the mind F@%* from it and hoped this story would bring some of that to the story. This story is more of a romance with some bumbling detective work than a phycological thriller. I think the author was going for funny, and it does make the storyline lighter although it’s not necessarily always funny more juvenal type of humor, think Bill and Ted working a mystery type of story. The heroes of the story could not have been detectives in any real sense of the word, the author didn’t do her research on how the police work. The book overall was entertaining, I might get the next one if a sale came about. Narrator had a weird waver to his voice and sounded like a young old man, also a bit over the top and his side characters were in general not great.
