Starting off, compliments to Jeff Hays. When a male narrator voices female characters they can either sound comical or believable and Hays delivered a breath of life and personality with each voice.
Great, unexpected story that came at you with excitement at each turn. Some parts of the pacing was jerked when the main character would read point values, but Arand made wonderful characters, an amazing story akin to something of Walter White from Breaking Bad as an example of character arc and progression, and a blend of comedic and serious tones that did not feel forced or cliched. At first, my only other major complaint was Felix’ s power, it made him seem so much more powerful then he acted, however by the end of the book it is more than made up for and I highly intend to play this book again.
Closing statement, if this story is any indication to the regular means in which Mr. Arand writes and Mr. Hays reads I want to listen to his other series and I am highly hopeful and expectant to a continuation of this story.
