- Which character – as performed by Kevin Pierce – was your favorite?
- Kevin does a great job portraying the main character. He struggles a bit with the British character’s voice and should just let that go and read the story.
- Any additional comments?
- This book was pretty gritty, but fairly realistic in portraying a broken man in a broken world. There are a few times where the personality and motivations don’t match the actions of the main character. I found myself thinking, “Don’t Do That” a few times. There is extensive use of flash backs throughout the story to fill in details introduced to the current time storyline. In general they work well, but do jump around a lot.
I’m not sure the overly used music quotes and references are effective. They seem more distracting than useful to the storyline.
Kevin Pierce delivers a solid performance and depicts the different characters and music quotes well. If I see Kevin as the narrator, it makes me more likely to give the book a try.
The book ends rather abruptly with lots of loose ends. The author’s comments give some background to the stories creation and conclusion. Evidently this is a side story tied to the four book Stone Age series. Only the first book is available on Audible, the rest only in print or ebook.
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
