Yeah, it started out great. Alien subscription, strange new world, a prophecy, and a promise for alien military battles. What we got was a weird tale about child soldiers forced into space bootcamp by an all powerful space congress, and their literal indoctrination into space/warrior/slaves. A lot of kids die in gruesome horrific ways, and the message taken from this tale is a bit distressing and melancholic. I kept waiting for a time skip, or a transition, but it never came. This is basically a prologue. Also, there is a lot of uncomfortable situations that imply a lot of messed up stuff when you realize that all the human characters in this situation are under 12 years old (excluding the MC). It’s an okay story, it just drags on due to the MCs wild swings in identity and emotion. It is the most effective portrayal of a male teenager I’ve ever read. Give a go if you’re patient, just bump the speed up to 1.3x and it’ll make the long book more bearable
